The subscription series for chamber music in Heidelberg

Chamber music every month! From September to May, a wide variety of chamber music ensembles fill one of the most beautiful halls in the region - the auditorium of the Old University of Heidelberg.

Guests include various international chamber music ensembles such as the renowned Trio Con Brio Copenhagen, the Mariani Piano Quartet, the pianists Mariam Batsashvili and Szymon Nehring and the brothers Edgar and Jérémie Moreau with cello and piano.

The programme includes exciting new discoveries. The artists add a very personal touch by performing works from their home countries by rather unknown or forgotten composers, some of whom are contemporaries. French oboist François Leleux will open the season with works by the unknown masters Eugène Bozza, Henri Dutilleux and Pierre Sancan, while the Norwegian piano trio will perform works by their compatriots Marcus Paus, Borghild Holmsen and Agatha Backer Grøndahl that are still unknown in this country. The Mariani Piano Quartet will perform works by Brahms' contemporary Friedrich Germsheim, whose music was banned by the Nazis because of his Jewish origins and has since been forgotten. And for the second time ever, Trio Con Brio will perform the work by Louise Alenius, which the Danish composer composed to mark the ensemble's 25th anniversary this year.

Repertoire favorites such as piano sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven and W.A. Mozart can also be heard.

But the Kammermusik + series offers even more: in a 7-minute stage talk with the artists, characteristic, sometimes curious aspects of the programme are highlighted or exciting phenomena in the context of the works are highlighted.

Tickets are available as one-way tickets or as a subscription.
