“Das Lied - International Song Competition” seeks out and promotes highly gifted singers. It offers the best of the upcoming generation of singers an opportunity and a chance to perform. At the same time, the competition seeks to emphasize and animate Lied as a musical genre. We think it is important that Lied recitals regain their fixed place in concert life, that songs be sung in families, schools, and kindergartens, that contemporary composers work in this genre, and that young singers dedicate themselves to song. This is why we support this song competition, out of deep conviction and with all our heart.
