
From among all valid entries, 40 participants will be selected and invited to participate in the Berlin competition.

Participants will present one song of their own choice from the prepared repertoire (15 Lieder from Franz Schubert and 15 Lieder from Robert Schumann) and the jury will then select two further songs from the same repertoire. The program will be set the day before the competition, and participants will be informed of their final repertoire on the day of their appearance. The program should not exceed 15 minutes. Songs will be sung from memory in the original language. A lottery will decide the order and day of appearance.
The first round is public, free admission.

The program will be set the day before the finale. The program cannot exceed 25 minutes. Songs will be sung from memory in the original language. A lottery will decide the order of appearance.
The finale is public, free admission.
Prizewinners will be announced that same evening.
